An elected Dutton Littleproud Coalition Government is today committing to invest $5 million toward the duplication of Griffith Street in Bacchus Marsh.
Liberal Candidate for Hawke, Simmone Cottom said it is fantastic to secure this commitment to fund the Griffith Street project which involves duplicating Griffith Street between Cassina Boulevard to Grant Street, a new signalised pedestrian crossing, bus bays and service roads to enable a smoother flow of traffic.
“Bacchus Marsh is one of the fastest growing peri-urban areas in Victoria and this rapid growth has brought an increase of residential housing and industry, which, in turn, has seen an increase in the demand placed on the road network.”
“An elected Coalition Government is committed to upgrading roads across the country like here in Bacchus Marsh – with this investment being a game-changer for local residents, commuters, and businesses after years of delays and inaction under the Albanese Labor Government.”
“With such a fast-growing population we need to ensure demand for services can be met, providing for the Bacchus Marsh community for years to come.”
Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, Senator Bridget McKenzie said the Coalition won’t waste any time in getting the Griffith Street Road duplication project up and running.
“The Albanese Government has cancelled, cut and delayed more than $30 billion worth of infrastructure projects over the past three years, and damaged the economy through wasteful spending on the wrong priorities.”
“But in contrast, the Coalition over the past 3 years has been working with the people on the ground and has a
well-planned approach for getting road infrastructure projects back up and running across the country – including the duplication of Griffith Street here in Bacchus Marsh. This project is a no-brainer.”
“This Government has left infrastructure projects to waste and communities to suffer but we want to make sure the community of Hawke has the quality roads and infrastructure that it needs to get ahead.”
