SCRAP THE VICTORIAN EMERGENCY SERVICES LEVY PETITION
To the Legislative Council of Victoria: The petition of certain citizens of the State of Victoria draws to the attention of the Legislative Council the dramatic rise in payments require by ratepayers under the proposed Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund. The petitioners therefore request that the Legislative Council call on the Government to immediately cease the production of the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund, ensure the current Fire Services Property Levy remains in place for the foreseeable future and commits to a genuine consultation process, which includes CFA and SES volunteers, farmers, emergency services workers and other interested parties, to develop a fairer way of funding Victorian emergency services.
