Inspired by Bendigo’s successful youth week celebrations, Nationals Senator for Victoria, Bridget McKenzie will host a round table forum on May 21 for the young people of Bendigo. This is a chance for them to voice their opinions on issues that affect them, in the lead up to the September 2013 election.
“It was fantastic to see so many motivated young people actively taking part in Youth Week. I want to give them another opportunity to be a part of the national conversation,” Senator McKenzie said.
The forum will be held at Senator McKenzie’s electorate office and so far school captains from Bendigo schools have been invited. Senator McKenzie is also asking other young people aged between 15 and 19, who are interested in attending to contact her and get involved.
“The federal election is only months away and I want to hear what the young people of Bendigo want for their town, their community and their country. Their opinions are as important as everyone else’s and I want to recognise that,” Senator McKenzie said.
If you would like to be involved please contact Senator McKenzie’s electorate office on 54414251. Places are limited.
