Victorian Nationals Senator Bridget McKenzie has welcomed changes to the criteria for the second round of Regional Development Australia Funding.
‘‘The criteria for the new application forms has been finalised and I welcome the improvements,’’ Senator McKenzie said.
‘‘More than a hundred projects across Australia were rejected (in the first round), so this is an opportunity for these communities and organisations to reapply.’’
Although the guidelines are clearer, the requirements have also changed and Senator McKenzie said that would mean some projects would no longer be eligible.
‘‘The next step is to encourage the department to assess the applications according to need, rather than whether or not they happen to be in an ALP seat,’’ she said.
